Visual science mapping and future direction of pediatric acupuncture: a bibliometric analysis from Scopus database and VOSviewer

Introduction: Pediatric acupuncture is an interesting subject to study along with strengthening the current development of therapy. Not only for adults, but also safe children. There have been many studies on acupuncture, publications related children are still very few compared adults. The purpose this visually map and guide future research based bibliometric analysis. Method: We conducted from September 16 19, 2022. Publications regarding pediatric were extracted Scopus database. search strategy included two keywords: (ACUPUNCTURE)*(PEDIATRIC). final result was acquired by searching those keywords without limitation because number articles less than 1000. used VOSviewer indicators generate a maps-based data network all keywords-related showing association among journals, countries, publication frequency, authors, citations. Keywords infer acupuncture. A total 669 documents retrieved. This includes 432 articles, 176 reviews, conference papers. Results: 10,918 citations recorded h-index count 52. first relevant dated 1966. Since then, there has steady increase in each year whereas 2021 as most productive 53 publications. Medical Acupuncture Journal (25) prolific journal. United States America (298) China (54) country institutions. article entitled Clinical Practice Guideline: Allergic rhinitis Seidman et al. (386) cited reference. Conclusion: benefit potential several diseases patients promising no adverse side effects reported.
